1. How long can I expect to wait for my translation?

The time it takes to produce the quality translation you will expect depends on a range of different factors. These include:
- the length of the text itself;
- the nature of the piece in question (whether the subject matter is technical or general, any background research is necessary, etc.).

2. What will a translation cost me? Will I qualify for a volume discount?

Our translations are charged in euros per line of translated text. Prices (Link zu Prices) start at €1.30 per line (one line consists of 55 keystrokes, including empty spaces, DIN standard). Translation of more straightforward copy can usually be expected to be less expensive than more challenging technical text. We are more than happy to negotiate volume discounts, depending on the amount of work involved. Please refer to our Prices section, mail us or give us a call for further details.

3. What is the billing method for your services?

Upon completion of the translation we send you our invoice either by post or email (whatever method your prefer), and accept payment by bank transfer. Our payment terms are 14 days after invoice date. Monthly accounts can be arranged for ongoing orders.

4. What’s the technical fluency of your translators? Are they experienced in translating technical terminology?

Yes. Each different industry has its own highly specific vocabulary, which insiders learn over years as it becomes an integral part of their language use. This often poses a real challenge for translators and copywriters, particularly as the technological advances of recent years – most notably Facebook and Twitter – mean that developments in language today move around the world more quickly than ever before. Slang being used for the first time in London schools at breakfast is now heard on Australian streets minutes later. The trend is a similar one in industry, and translators need to keep up with this. All our translators have individual areas of specialisation, from having studied or worked in the industry in question.

5. Where is the translation service performed? Are your translators onsite, or external contractors?

Both. Although the majority of our translations are rendered onsite, we also use a small and trusted group of freelancers to widen our expertise.

6. What are the qualifications of your translators? What is their educational background?

We ensure all our translators are full-time qualified and experienced professionals, translating into their mother tongue.
